Kavuni Arisi Dosa


Delicious dosa made using Kavuni Rice


  • Kavuni arisi: 200 gm
  • Boiled rice: 100 gm
  • Urad dhal (Vulundhu):    50 gm
  • Fenugreek (Vendhayam): ½ teaspoon
  • Salt: 1.1/2 tsp


  1. Mix both the rice into a bowl, wash and soak for 6-8 hours
  2. Mix Urad dhal and Fenugreek into a bowl, wash and soak for 1 hour
  3. Blend soaked Urad dhal and Fenugreek to a fine paste in a mixer/grinder, and set aside
  4. Grind both the rice to a smooth paste, use water as needed during the process, and once done keep the batter aside
  5. Mix both the batter (Urad dhal, fenugreek and rice) along with salt
  6. Cover it and ferment it for 6-8 hours
  7. Once fermented, mix the batter thoroughly, pour it in to hot tawa, drizzle oil, and roast it well
  8. Serve it hot with any favourite chutney
