Basmati Veg. Fried Rice

A popular and flavoured basmati rice recipe made with cooked rice

Ingredients

  • Basmati Rice – 2 cups
  • Veggies of your choice (Carrot, Beans, Broccoli,  Cauliflower, Capsicum)
  • Black pepper powder –     3 -4 tbsp
  • Soya sauce (optional) – 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala – 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tbsp.
  • Water as required
  • Salt to taste

Steps

  1. Wash the basmati rice and soak for 10 mins (optional)
  2. Add water and oil to a cooking pot and allow to boil
  3. Once the water comes to a boil add the Basmati rice to it and cook for 10-15 mins till it 70% cooked in a low flame
  4. Strain the rice through a strainer and keep aside
  5. In a Kadai, add little oil.
  6. Once the oil is hot, add in chopped garlic and ginger and saute them
  7. Now add onion and other veggies of your choice and saute them with required salt
  8. Once the veggies are cooked add soya sauce(optional), garam masala and black pepper powder
  9. Add in the cooked basmati rice and saute along with the veggies for few minutes
  10. Garnish with coriander
  11. Serve with a gravy of your choice
