Foxtail Millet (Thinai) Curd Upma
A healthy and delicious savoury breakfast dish made with foxtail millets, spices and mixed vegetables.
Ingredients
- Thinai (Foxtail millet)– ½ cup
- Curd – ¼ cup

Salt to taste
For Seasoning: - Ghee – 2 tsp
- Chana Dal – 1 tsp
- Urad Dal – 1 tsp

Mustard seeds – ½ tsp
Veggies: - Chopped Onion – 1 no
- Chopped Tomato– 1 no
- Chopped Carrot– 1 no
- Chopped Green Beans – few
- Green Peas, Sweet Corn
- Green Chilli chopped – 3 nos.
- Chopped Ginger, Curry leaves
- Coriander leaves
Steps
- Add ghee to a Kadai and season it with seasoning ingredients as given and saute them for 5 mins
- Add the required veggies and saute them a little
- Now add 2 cups of water and let the veggies to cook for few mins
- Add salt to taste
- Now add Thinai and cook it for 20 mins
- Finally add curd. Now Upma is ready
- Garnish with coriander leaves
- Serve hot with coconut chutney
