Thinai Payasam
Thinai Payasam - A very healthy recipe made with jaggery, cardamom and coconut milk.
Ingredients
- Thinai MIllet– 1 cup
- Dry fruits (Cashew, raisins, nuts)
- Grated coconut as needed
- Ghee as needed
- Jaggery – 3/4th cup
- Coconut milk or normal boiled milk
- Cardamom powder
- Water as required
Steps
- Dry roast Thinai(1 cup) on a pan.
- Then fry dry fruits with ghee along with grated coconut and keep it aside.
- Add the Thinai millet in a pan and add 3 cups of water ,bring it to boil .
- Add water when necessary as Thinai becomes thick when cooked.
- Meanwhile add 3/4th cup Jaggery to little water, allow to dissolve and filter it to remove dust.
- Add the Jaggery water to the boiling Thinai and stir it.
- After 5 mins of cooking, add the coconut milk or normal boiled milk
- Then at last add fried nuts and cardamom powder and mix it .
- Serve hot.
