Spicy Varagu Porridge
Everyone of us can have this healthy breakfast/dinner to keep diabetes at a distance.
Ingredients
- Varagu– 1 cup
- Moong Dal– 1/2 cup
- Pepper– 1 tbsp
- Jeeragam – 1 tbsp
- Ginger (small piece)
- Garlic – 4 nos
- Green Chilli – 4 nos
- Curry Leaves
- Ghee
- Cashew (optional)
- Water – 6 cups
- Salt
Steps
- Add Ghee to a Kadai
- Once hot, add crushed pepper and crushed Jeeragam
- Once they pop, add crushed ginger, crushed garlic, green chillies and curry leaves
- After tossing them, add the Varagu rice and fried Moong Dal
- Add water and salt required
- Close the lid and cook until it is done
- Garnish with few peppercorns and cashew fried in Ghee
