Delta Foods Thanjavur (DFT) is a farmer-centric and consumer-focused initiative founded in 2020 by a team of seasoned professionals. Led by Col. Prof. N. Ramachandran, a visionary leader known for pioneering indigenous industrialization and agro-processing, DFT aims to establish a transformative agro and food processing venture that benefits the composite districts of the Cauvery delta region.
As the Project Execution Agency (PEA) for the Agro Processing Cluster (APC) initiative, Delta Foods Thanjavur serves as the driving force behind this government-supported endeavor. Backed by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, the PEA is responsible for developing state-of-the-art infrastructure essential for the food processing industry. Within this cluster, at least five dedicated processing units are being established: Delta Instant Foods, Delta Millet Foods, Delta Fruit Drinks, Delta Rice Products, and Delta Animal Feed.
The APC approach aims to build a comprehensive platform that strengthens the supply and value chains from FARM to FORK, benefiting all stakeholders in the agriculture and food sectors. The infrastructure and facilities of the APC are made available to aspiring producers, processors, traders, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), and Self-Help Groups (SHGs) at nominal user charges, thus enabling both the manufacturing and marketing of their products. This project plays a vital role in enhancing the agrarian economy and is supported under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY)

Delta Foods Thanjavur (DFT) is established in an area of 15.5 acres of land, at Pudukkottai – Thanjavur National Highway NH 36, Tamil Nadu.
DFT is located at Kadavarayanpatti, 40 kilometers north of the district headquarters, Pudukkottai, 6 Km from Gandharvakottai just 14 kilometers from Thanjavur city.
The site is well-connected by NH 36 & NH 83 road and rail, with close proximity to the International Airports in Tiruchirapalli and Madurai.
Tuticorin, Nagappattinam and Karaikal ports are conveniently accessible by road, facilitating efficient export and distribution.
